Michael J. Fox has been in poor health for years now, but he isn’t letting it hold him back.
Michael J. Fox is one of the greatest actors of all time. Many of you remember the man from his HUGE success as Marty McFly from “Back To The Future”. The actor won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe award for the trilogy.
We all loved him as if we knew him, and there was truly no one like him. Unfortunately, this made all of us extremely heartbroken when we found out that Michael J. Fox had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991 when he was only 29 years old.
Fox waited 7 full years before he disclosed his diagnosis to the public and finally let the cat out of the bag in 1998. It was only a few short years later that Michael J. Fox had “semi-retired” because his conditioned had worsened so quickly.
This is why when Michael J. Fox stepped on stage with Coldplay just a few days ago, we were all in complete shock! Coldplay was performing at MetLife stadium in New Jersey when Fox appeared on stage to perform with them. He wasn’t just standing on the stage though, he was playing the guitar!
It all started when a video clip of lead singer, Chris Martin’s, son Moses asking him to sing a song from “the greatest movie of all time” – Back To The Future. The band then started playing the beautiful song “Earth Angel” and “Johnny B Goode” from the hit trilogy.
After singing some of “Earth Angel” Chris Martin spoke up to introduce the greatest Michael J. Fox.
“Ladies and gentlemen, from the best movie of all time. Please welcome, Mr. Michael J. Fox!”
The crowd went wild as Michael J. Fox stepped on stage and grabbed a guitar. Since he has been severely suffering from his Parkinson’s diagnosis, no one expected him to get up there and play..especially as well as he did.
Fox was rocking the stage as if he had been doing it for a living. He definitely doesn’t struggle with stage fright and he absolutely killed his guitar solos! Chris Martin and the band said that playing with the legend was “a dream come true”.
Michael J. Fox is now 55 years old and the “Back To The Future” legend isn’t just sitting around doing nothing. He has still done some voice-over jobs and other gigs here and there, but since his big diagnosis Michael has also become a huge research advocate.
He has even created the Michael J. Fox Foundation that launched in 2010 and is changing lives everywhere.
“Through your tax-deductible donations to Parkinson’s research, The Michael J. Fox Foundation can accelerate the Parkinson’s research breakthroughs that patients urgently need. Your help assists us in meeting our fundraising goals. Honor someone in your life living with Parkinson’s disease. Your Parkinson’s research support funds an aggressive agenda aimed at developing improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s disease.”
We are so proud of Michael J. Fox, and happy to see him out on stage rocking it out with Coldplay. This was so shocking, but it was a dream come true for many! Watch him shred in the video below:
We love you Michael J. Fox!!!
