Hollywood legend dies after long battle with cancer, please keep his family in your prayers.
He is known as the former Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO, Brad Grey, died on Sunday night after a lengthy battle with cancer. Grey was 59 years old at the time of his death, and he will be missed dearly.
Grey wasn’t only known for running Paramount Pictures for 12 years, though. Grey was also part of transforming Brillstein-Grey Entertainment into one of Hollywood’s most successful management and production companies.
He was a huge part in helping develop shows such as “The Sopranos” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” Not only that, but Grey co-founded Plan B Entertainment with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
After co-founding Plan B Entertainment, was when he then produced the Oscar-winning show “The Departed.” He died last night (May 14) in Holmby Hills, CA. It was reported that both friends and family at his side.
Viacom CEO and president Bob Bakish spoke of Grey saying that he was an extraordinary talent and that there will never be another like him. He cared about everyone that he met and it was tragic to lose such a warm soul.
“Brad Grey was an extraordinary talent with a passion and gift for storytelling that won’t be forgotten. He has left an incredible legacy at Paramount and across the entire entertainment industry, from the beloved hit franchises he developed for both film and television, to the countless individuals he mentored and supported throughout his career. All of us at Viacom and Paramount mourn his passing, and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
Many others commented on his death as well, saying he was one of a kind.
The Hollywood legend is survived by his wife, Cassandra Grey, their son Jules, his three grown children Sam, Max and Emily from his marriage to Jill (nee Gutterson) Grey, his mother Barbara Schumsky, his brother Michael Grey and his sister Robin Grey.
