An NFL great was just found dead while on vacation in Costa Rica. You will be missed.
The NFL is mourning the loss of Former Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams punter, Rick Tuten. Reports say that Tuten died unexpectedly while on vacation in Costa Rica.
Details on the 52 year old NFL star’s death have not been released and it is still under investigation. According to Judd Davis, who was a longtime friends of Tuten, he became something of a cult following during his time in Seattle.
“They used to call him ‘Bootin’ Tuten’,” Davis told the Star-Banner. He was known for his long, blond hair that hung out of his helmet.”
Terrible news. I just had him on the air during a game at Howser last month. https://t.co/fIajPiEYnO

He was considered one of the greats in football, and we are heartbroken to hear about his sudden death.
He played seven seasons in Seattle from 1991-1997, by far his longest stint with any team. However, he finished his career with a two-year stay as a St. Louis Ram, where he won the Super Bowl in 1999. Prior to his Seahawks career, he spent a year each with the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills.
Tuten is survived by his wife Jennifer, two daughters Kinley and Ryan and son Chase. Please keep this family in your prayers as they mourn his devastating and tragic death.
