Sadie Robertson just confirmed news that no one expected to be true. Prayers for her…
Sadie Robertson is considered an American Sweetheart and her latest news has us all furious. While trying to pursue a career in modeling she has been torn down by others.
Robertson is about to kick off her second Live Original Tour. Although this is an exciting time for her, she has had to push through some serious hardships.
In a recent Facebook post she shared about the thing that broke her heart. We haven’t seen much of her on social media lately, but she has finally come back to share it all.
Apparently she was going in for a photoshoot when a director took one look at her and totally destroyed her.
“The director of the shoot took a quick look at me and said, ‘Nope this girl does not have the face to pull off a no makeup shoot,'” she wrote. “So they proceeded to spend around 2 hours making it look as though I had no makeup on. Let’s be real I did NOT wake up like that.”
She continued to share about other modeling experiences that she has had. This next part made my blood boil.
Sadie was at a photoshoot and someone grabbed her stomach calling her fat and telling her to lose ten pounds if she wanted to look like a real model.
“I have never thought of myself as a model, but getting to dip my toes a little in this industry I’ve heard shocking things, had my stomach ‘fat’ pinched to make sure I knew which part I needed to get rid of. I’ve been told if I would loose 10 pounds then I may look like an actual model, yet all the while I just smile, laugh, eat and dance my way through the shoots.”
Thankfully, Sadie is confident in who she is in God. Although these things hurt her, she didn’t let it keep her down for long.
Now, she is using the experience to help other girls. She used it to encourage all of her followers to find their identity in Christ and not what other people say.
This is one of my favorite things about Sadie, she always turns the bad into lessons. Then she shares them with her fans. She’s a true role model.
“My identity lies within the hands of my God who I believe created me to be fearfully and wonderfully made,” she said. “I believe EVERYONE has the face to pull off a ‘no makeup shoot’ because that is YOUR FACE. The makeup is the extra. It’s fun, but when it becomes your everything that’s when you begin to loose everything about what makes you… YOU. My friend and I went out at sunrise yesterday to remind ourselves of real beauty and went without makeup. The beauty surrounded us, and was flowing from within into our conversations.”
You’re beautiful just the way you are, Sadie!
