Billy Ray Cyrus just released a statement about his daughter that has us all in shock!
Billy Ray Cyrus rose to fame decades ago before his daughters ever did. Now both Noah and Miley are well known across the globe and are pretty successful in their music careers.
Of course, we all expected them to be sweet little Southern Gems like their father. As you all know that isn’t the case.
Honestly, Miley is getting better but she went through a wild wild season in her career and life.
During a recent trip to New York City, Cyrus sat down with BUILD Series to discuss his new album, Set The Record Straight. We all know that more questions would be asked though.
One question and answer in particular really grasped fans attentions. He was talking bout raising children who are musically schooled.
A lot of parents find it challenging to raise kids who are so opinionated. Especially when they get as famous as Miley.
He went on to talk about Miley and the first song he sang with her which was “Stand”.
“From a very, very young girl, [Miley] had influences around her such as Carl Perkins, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, George Jones. The list goes on and on. Miley absorbed a lot of that — Noah, too. They absorbed the influences that would be coming in and out of our house to play music. ‘Stand’ is a song she sang with me, she might have been 13, and it’s about stand for what you believe in and stand for all that is right. Be the change you want to see.”
Instead of going on about how disappointed he was in her when she went of the deep end he praised her. He says that he is proud of her for always standing up for what she believes in.
He says that he believes the song is relevant in their lives even now, as Miley continues to form into the woman that she is meant to be.
“In our world now, this song feels like it’s just really got something to say at this time. God’s timing is is always perfect, and I feel like this song was kind of saved for this moment. You look at Miley — she does stand for what she believes in. I’m really proud of her for that.”
He really loves her! I can’t believe he wasn’t mad at her!
