Longtime music legend just shared devastating death news. Prayers for the family…
She was known as a Rolling Stone muse, actress/model Anita Pallenberg has passed away at age 73. Pallenberg became really ramous after she starred alongside Mick Jagger in the cult film Performance.
Her friend Stella Schnabel confirmed the death news after posting about it on social media. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
The beautiful model was born in German-occupied Rome in January 1944. When she was just 16 years old she was expelled from a German boarding school and that’s when she started modeling in Italy.
Later on in her career she moved to New York where she spent most of her time at Andy Warhol’s Factory. One night Pallenberg attended a Rolling Stones concert and after getting VIP tickets she made a relationship with Stones guitarist Brian Jones. She eventually left him after things got violent and started dating Keith Richards.
They moved to London and had three beautiful children together. They started taking drugs and eventually things got so bad that they had to divorce.
She eventually met to do backup vocals for Sympathy for the Devil and Mick Jagger. Little did she know that her and Mick would star together in Nicolas Roeg’s 1970 crime drama Performance, where she became a muse.
After that she was in several films including Barbarella, Candy, Abel Ferrara’s Go Go Tales , Harmony Korine’s Mister Lonely, and several others.
“I had several publishers and they were all the same,” she told the Guardian’s Lynn Barber in 2008. “They all wanted salacious. And everybody is writing autobiographies and that’s one reason why I’m not going to do it. If young Posh Spice can write her autobiography, then I don’t want to write one!’
We are heartbroken to hear about her death. Please keep her family in your prayers during this heartbreaking time.
