Famous music legend was found dead in a hotel room, authorities think that it was a suicide. Prayers for the family.
He is the infamous lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave, Chris Cornell has passed away. His rep spoke with CNN stating that he was found dead on Wednesday night after a performance in Detroit.
A spokesperson from the Detroit Police Department, Michael Woody, also spoke with the news outlet stating that his death was ruled as a “possible suicide”. According to reports a family friend called 911 around midnight (Thursday morning).
The friend went to the hotel to check on 52 year old Cornell and apparently found the musician “unresponsive” on the bathroom floor. When the ambulance arrived to the hotel, Cornell was immediately pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are moving in the direction of a possible suicide but we are waiting on the Medical Examiner’s Office to provide their report,” Woody said.

His rep Brian Bumbery, says that his death was a complete shock to his wife and entire family. It was totally unexpected and it has hit them very hard.
The family has thanked all of his fans for reaching out and for their prayers, but has continued to ask for privacy during this devastating time. They are going to be working closely with the medical examiner to help determine cause of death.
“His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing, and they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause,” the statement read. “They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”
Cornell had a way of making fans feel like they were the ones creating the music and that was something that we all loved about him. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers during this time.
