Originally, Christopher Wong Won was his real name. He was known by his stage name, though. According to TMZ he and his group became poster children for First Amendment Rights after their “As Nasty As They Wanna Be” album. The album was the first to be labeled “legally obscene” by the government.
He was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago in 1964. In 1977 he moved to Brooklyn and began a four-year tenure with the United States Air Force in 1982.
That’s when he went on form 2 Live Crew.
