Famous music star was announced dead after falling off an observation deck while stargazing. Prayers for the family.
Fans are devastated after hearing that Mikio Fujioka, the guitarist for Japanese pop-metal band Babymetal, has died. Furthermore, according to reports he died at the age of 36.
Meanwhile, the reports also state that Fujioka was just out stargazing on December 30 when he fell off of an observation deck. From that moment he was suffering from severe injuries from the fall, according to NME.
His band confirmed the devastating news on their social media accounts sharing that they were heartbroken. Furthermore, they hoped he was with his guitar master having a guitar session with him.
“The “Little” Guitar Kami of #BABYMETAL‘s #Kamiband has passed away in the METAL GALAXIES. We hope that he is now with his GUITAR MASTER A.Holdsworth and enjoying an epic guitar session with him.”
Fujioka’s band had gained an international following over the years. Meanwhile, their unique theatrical blend of female Japanese-pop vocals and heavy metal instrumentation was something that had never been done before.
The group calls this sound “kawaii metal,” or “cute metal.” They have opened for popular acts like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N’ Roses and appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
The guitarist was part of the Kami Band, who perform in make-up and costumes as nature spirits. Furthermore, he has toured with the band since 2013 and was nicknamed “Ko-Gami,” or “The Little God.”
His talent was out of this world and there will truly never be anyone like him. Meanwhile, please continue to pray for his family and his friends during this heartbreaking time.

He is survived by his wife and his daughter.
