Katy Perry’s father just opened up asking for prayers for her, this is so sad…
Famous Pop Singer, Katheryn Hudson, better known by her stage name Katy Perry is in a rough patch and her father is begging for prayers. For those of you who don’t know both of her parents are evangelists, and they raised her in a Christian home.
This is tough for many to believe because of the explicit songs and music videos that Perry releases. Because of her background in church many have quickly judged Katy for her musical decisions.
Her most recent video was one of the worst that she’s made so far, but her parents still choose to love her. In a recent CBN report her father was speaking to a congregation asking everyone to pray for Katy. Instead of being quick to judge, he urged everyone to pray that she would snap out of this wild streak that she is in.
I can’t imagine how hard it must be for them to see their daughter go off of the deep end like this…
“I want you to pray for my daughter,” Perry’s father, Keith Hudson, recently said. He and his wife, Mary, were speaking at the Church of Grace in Yorba Linda, California, CBN News reported. “Don’t judge her, pray for her.”
Perry responded to her father’s statement saying that they are trying to agree to disagree. Although they have different beliefs she says that it’s with “loving space”. This is something that she and her family have been exercising since she picked her path in music that was way different than singing in the choir at church.
“The thing about it is, which is such a weird thing, to really understand we agree to disagree, but still with loving space,” she said. “We all come from different places… you can have your belief system, nobody is telling you to not believe your beliefs but you can also come from a space of love. That’s what my family and I exercise all the time.”
When Perry was just 17 years old she started out pursuing music as a gospel singer. When she released her song “I Kissed A Girl” that was the end of her good girl streak and she’s been more risky with every song she releases.
In an interview with Marie Claire she shared that she had completely turned away from her Christian beliefs. Her statement left many in fear for her life, hoping and praying that she would one day turn back to the morals and beliefs that she grew up learning about.
“I don’t believe in a heaven or a hell or an old man sitting on a throne,” said Perry in an issue of Marie Claire. “I believe in a higher power bigger than me because that keeps me accountable.”
This must be so heartbreaking for her family…
