Dolly Parton has been in country music for decades now, and she just shared news that we never expected!
If you are a Dolly Parton fan, or have even heard of her name you probably know that she is no stranger to receiving accolades. Those all including eight Grammy Awards. 10 Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards and three American Music Awards.
Although the country music star has been in the business for decades, she hasn’t slowed down one bit. She has us all in tears after now adding two Guinness World Records to her resume.
Parton shared that she was recently certified in the 2018 edition of the Guinness World Records. The reason why will blow you mind!
She is adding two records to her name for Most Decades with a Top 20 Hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart, and Most Hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart by a Female Artist.
The beautiful singer released a statement about how honored and excited she is to hold these records. Although she hoped her career would kick off, she never imagined that she would be as successful as she is today.
“To receive these two Guinness World Records is so great!” said Parton in a statement. “Joining so many wonderful singers and songwriters who have been honored this way feels so special to me. You never know when you start out with your work how it’s going to turn out, but to have these two world records makes me feel very humbled and blessed!”
Parton is definitely a legend and has even “outperformed” legends like Elvis Presley and George Jones. And by that we mean that she has Top 20 country hits spanning six decades, and she is still a relevant artist today.
This is such a huge accomplishment and we are so happy for Dolly! She deserves it all!
