Country music star Steve Wariner just announced the heartbreaking death of his father, Roy Monroe Wariner. Just yesterday he posted a photo on his social media accounts confirming the death of his father.

He informed fans that his father passed away on Friday night and that he died a peaceful death.

“It is with great sadness I bring you the news of my Fathers passing. Roy Monroe Wariner died peacefully Friday night, July 7th, in Jamestown, Kentucky. Thank you all so very much for your prayers, kindness and condolences. It is very much appreciated. He was certainly my hero and inspiration and will forever be missed.”

According to his father’s obituary, he was 88 years old and living at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home at the time of his death. He was a Veteran of US Navy, a member of Church of God of Prophecy and a music teacher.

His role as a music teacher played a significant part in Steven’s success too. Steve Wariner got his start playing in his father’s band and what a great start it was. Now he can live to carry on his father’s beautiful legacy.

He was survived by 5 children: Kenny (Carol) Wariner, Barbara Judd, Steve (Caryn) Wariner, David Wariner, and Terry (Tracy) Wariner. He also had 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who survived him along with one brother, Lowell Wariner.

The cause of death has not yet been released, but from the sounds of it he passed because of natural cause. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers during this heartbreaking time.
