Television sensation was just found dead in her own Los Angeles home. Prayers for the family.
She is best known for her role as Sally Rogers on “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” Rose Marie passed away on Thursday, according to reports.
Her publicist confirmed the news, citing her family. Rose was 94 years old at the time of her death.
The wonderful actress was born as Rose Marie Mazetta on August 15, 1923. She lived in New York and at age 3 she had already started performing.
She become known by winning an amateur contest that took her to Atlantic City, New Jersey. That’s when she began performing on network radio, and the rest was history.
Her career in acting spanned over nine decades. She was also famous for appearing for years on the game show “The Hollywood Squares.” The game showfeatured celebrities sitting in boxes on a life-size tic-tac-toe board.
According to reports she was on 629 of the show’s episodes! In her time, she was definitely considered a legend.
She had the opportunity to sing for presidents as well. Just to name a few, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, and Franklin D. Roosevelt and was hired by Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel to perform in Las Vegas along with Jimmy Durante.
Marie was only on five seasons of the Dick Van Dyke Show before she moved on to “The Doris Day Show.” She was a huge sensation in her time, and she is going to be missed deeply.
