Famous television star was just found dead in the hospital. Praying for her family during this heartbreaking time.
She is the German actress who played an assassin sent by James Bond’s nemesis Blofeld to kill the British agent. Karin Dor was in the 1967’s “You Only Live Twice” has died.
Dor was 79 at the time of her death. According to reports she died Monday in a care home. German news agency dpa, confirmed the heartbreaking news late Wednesday.
She was not only famous for her time in the James Bond series, but she played in dozens of films, TV productions and theater plays.
Her career began in Germany when she was just a teenager at 17 years old. IT wasn’t long after she started pursuing that career that she really hit it off.
Aside from would-be Bond assassin Helga Brandt — who ended up being fed to piranhas — Dor also played in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1969 thriller “Topaz,” and the U.S. crime series “Ironside” and “The FBI.”
Unfortunately, her married life wasn’t as successful as her acting life. Dor was married three times throughout her lifetime.
Most recently she married an American stuntman and actor George Robotham He eventually died in 2007. Even after his death she continued to keep her head high and work on her career.
Some other tv shows and fils she was a part of include The Treasure of the Silver Lake (1962), Winnetou: The Red Gentleman (1964), Winnetou: The Last Shot (1965) and The Valley of Death (1968).
She also played a murderess in Room 13 (1964), and her film résumé also included Lee’s The Face of Fu Manchu (1965), The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism (1967) – another picture with Barker and Reinl – Warhead (1977), starring David Janssen, and I Am the Other Woman (2006).
As of now, no information has been released on her heartbreaking death. Prayer for the family.
