Legendary actress was just pronounced dead after decades in the industry. Prayers for the family during this heartbreaking time.

She is the actress that won the hearts of television viewers in the 1960’s. She is known as the long-suffering mother in the nighttime soap “Peyton Place.”

The beautiful and talented actress, Dorothy Malone died on Friday. According to reports, she passed away in her hometown of Dallas at age 93.

Continuing the report shared that Malone died while in an assisted living center. Apparently, the death was from natural causes.

This was just a few days before her 94th birthday. Her daughter, Mimi Vanderstraaten, confirmed the death news leading us all in tears.

For over 11 years she played in television shows as the “loving sweethearts and wives.” Eventually, she decided to take a risk and she fired her agent, hired a publicist, dyed her hair blonde. She was hoping to form a new image for herself in the industry.

And she did just that. She wasn’t going to let anything hold her back from achieving her big dreams and she ran to them with full force.

“I came up with a conviction that most of the winners in this business became stars overnight by playing shady dames with sex appeal,” she recalled in 1967. She welcomed the offer for “Written on the Wind,” in which she played an alcoholic nymphomaniac who tries to steal Rock Hudson from his wife, Lauren Bacall.

“And I’ve been unfaithful or drunk or oversexed almost ever since- on the screen, of course,” she added.

In 1956 Malone won an Academy Award for best actress in a supporting role for the performance. She was an incredible talent and she is going to be missed deeply.

She is survived by a brother, retired U.S. District Judge Robert B. Maloney, and another daughter, Diane Thompson, all of Dallas. Prayers for her family during their time of loss. Although she lived a long beautiful life, it’s never easy to say goodbye to your loved ones.
