Famous television icon was just found dead in his home by his wife. This is devastating.
He is known as the man who built Fox News into an empire, Roger Ailes was just found dead by his wife. The death comes as a shock to many considering the circumstances leading up to it.
Roger Ailes, recently resigned from his positions as chairman and CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network after several sexual harassment allegations came at him last year. The 77 year old was basically forced to give up his position in the company especially after a co-worker spilled the beans about the sexual harassment allegations.
Fox News contributor, Bill O’Reilly, announced that both he and his former executive Roger Ailes have paid “five women $13 million to settle allegations of sexual harassment or other inappropriate conduct by Fox’s ratings king.” Now, he is losing his job after being charged.
Ailes resigned immediately after Fox News Channel Host, Gretchen Carlson, filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. Ailes continued to deny the allegations that stated she was fired after she refused to have a sexual relationship with the executive till the day of his death.
Many are starting to wonder if the stress from the allegations may have forced the icon into his death. As of now, no cause of death has been released but his wife Elizabeth Ailes released a statement following her husband’s tragic death.
“I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning surrounded by his beautiful family. Roger was my best friend, the most wonderful loving husband and father to our son Zachary, He was a loyal friend to so many. Roger was a patriot, grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise-and to give back. During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions.”
This is so heartbreaking. Please keep this family in your prayers.
Today America lost one of its great patriotic warriors. Roger Ailes. For Decades RA's has impacted American politics and media.
