Country music star just confirmed that he has accepted a position as a judge on America Idol. OMG!
For months now rumors have been swirling that country music superstar Luke Bryan was going to be a judge on American Idol. Fans have been wondering if it was true, and now we finally have our answer!
Luke Bryan himself just announced that he is going to be joining Katy Perry and Lionel Richie on the judges panel. This has been a long time coming, but it’s finally here! I can’t believe he’s really going to be a part of this!
“I’m so excited and proud to announce that I will be one of the three judges on ABC’s American Idol.” He said in the video. “I will be joined with the beautiful Miss Katy Perry, and my hero Mr. Lionel Richie, and my fellow Georgia boy Ryan Seacrest. Can’t wait to see you guys, can’t wait to be part of the show, and I’m so excited to see all the talent out there that America has.”
For a while, the only confirmed judge was Perry. She is going to get $25 million, which didn’t leave much of the budget for the other two coaches and retuning host Seacrest.
That’s why it was so hard for them to nail down a fair deal with Luke. According to TMZ auditions begin on Tuesday (Oct. 3), and Bryan and Richie signed on for around $13 million and $10 million.
It was also reported that American Idol was trying to work out some deal with Disney for the artists to get perks there. No word if that’s what helped them tie in the final deal with Bryan and Richie.
American Idol is expected to come back bigger and better than ever! I can’t wait to see what updates and changes they have made to the show.
