Reba McEntire just shared HUGE news with all of her fans, I’ve been waiting for this!

Reba McEntire has been a fan favorite for decades now, and not just because of her career in music. In fact, the country star really gained following after she debuted her sitcom titled “Reba.”

The show is set in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, and stars Reba McEntire who is a single mother after her husband left her for another woman. Reba has been away from the small screen for quite some time now, but we have all been dying to see her get back out there and that’s exactly what she is doing!

Reba just announced that she is going to be starring in a new ABC drama! The script is “described as a Southern Gothic soap opera that is set in motion after a suspected act of terrorism happens at a Fourth of July parade in the small town of Oxblood, KY.”

According to Country Rebel, Reba McEntire will play the “small town’s sheriff who must team up with an FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent to help her solve the crime.” The show is going to be produced by Marc Cherry, who is also the creator of the tv hit series Desperate Housewives.

“Produced by Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, the show will also star Haven actress Emily Rose, Jack Coleman (Heroes), Amanda Detmer (Necessary Roughness), Ryan McPartlin (Chuck), Ben Esler (Hell on Wheels), Natalie Hall (Star-Crossed, All My Children) and Saidah Ekulona (Impastor).”

Earlier in the year Reba shared that they would be shooting the pilot in March, and more than likely would be filming in the fall of 2017. It looks like her assumptions were right, now that ABC picked up the pilot and is ready to get the show on the road!

“If they give us the go-ahead we’ll start shooting the pilot probably in March and wait for the upfronts to see if we get picked up,” she says of the TV upfronts, which announce to the industry when certain shows will air on each network. “Hopefully we’ll be shooting in the fall or January of next year. Before we start doing preliminary planning we need to get the go-ahead.”

Congratulations Reba! This is great news!!!!
