DFS Cash Game Cheat Sheets Week 1

Fantasy Sports

Cash Games – I consider cash games head-to-head, 50/50 matchups, and double ups.  You want to have players with nice floors and you don’t really care about the ownership of players.  The high risk players are not ideal for your cash games because of their chances for low scores or the dreaded ZERO in your lineup.

Dak Prescott (FD $5000, DK $5,000) – Prescott is going to be a very popular play in both cash games and GPP’s.  He allows you the chance to roster not one, not two, but three super stars on your team and feels like “hey, I can use this team this week.”  The upside isn’t there, but a 200 yard passing and 1-2 touchdown game is very much in play.  Enjoy the minimum price on both sites as both will go up in week two.

Aaron Rodgers ($9000, DK $8500) – If you are willing to spend up and not go with the minimum priced Prescott, it is never a bad thing to go with Rodgers.  He will get his favorite target back this week in Jordy Nelson.  A matchup against the Jaguars defense is never a bad thing.  Jacksonville has improved on defense, but his is Rodgers we are talking about.  Of all the top tier options at quarterback, Rodgers is my number one guy.

Running Backs

Spencer Ware (FD $5,400, DK $4,400) – With Jamaal Charles very unlikely to play this Sunday, Ware is the man in line for the Chiefs in the backfield.  He is the clear cut backup to Charles and if Charles is unable to suit up, Ware will run wild over the weak Chargers defense.  Do you want to start Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, and Odell Beckham Jr as your wide receivers on FanDuel?  Start with Ware and Prescott and it is very possible.

DeAngelo Williams (FD $7,100) – With DraftKings not including the Monday Night games in their main slate, I am just doing this as a FanDuel play.  Williams isn’t price down like Ware, but he is still a phenomenal play on Monday night.  In Le’Veon Bell’s absence last year, he was great; no need to feel that won’t be the same in 2016.  The Steelers offense is always a team you want a piece of and Williams seems the option that I will be going in week one.

Wide Receivers

Julio Jones (FD $9,000, DK $9,400) – With the minimum (or near minimum) plays at QB and RB, I don’t see any reason that you don’t spend up at WR.  Jones has always played excellent against division rival Tampa Bay, and I don’t see 2016 different.  Jones is one of the best in the game and has one of the best matchups on the board.  Spend up on Jones and watch the scores go up and up with him.

Marvin Jones (FD $5,500, DK $4,600) – I don’t see myself going this low in my cash games at wide receiver, but wanted to put a name in here just in case you do.  Marvin comes over from the Bengals and has a great matchup to start his season with the Detroit Lions.  With no Vontae Davis in the Indianapolis secondary, you don’t have to worry about one of the best corners matching up against him.  The only issue is Golden Tate, but I think this game is enough for both receivers should eat and eat well in week one.

Tight End

Jordan Reed (FD $7,400, DK) – I am kind of stumped in week one on who to go with so this is a FanDuel play with DraftKings not including the Monday games in their main slate.  Reed is the number one option in Washington passing game and has a good chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins.  With the uncertainty of Gronkowski (injury and QB play), Reed is the top option in week one.  If you don’t want to spend the money on Reed, look at his opponent Jesse James of the Steelers, more of a risk, but at his price (FD $4,500) it is a good risk.

Seattle Seahawks –(FD $5,000, DK $3,900) – Defense is tough being that you need sacks and turnovers and even the best teams can have a bad day, but I think the Seahawks are the best option in week one.  They have a matchup against the Dolphins at home and have been a proven defense year in and year out.  It all depends if you want to spend top dollar on a defense.
