Everyone needs to see this daughter’s last text message, i’m speechless.
Texting has become one of the most distracting things while driving. Many people think that they are good enough drivers, and that they can text without wrecking.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case and we are seeing more and more deaths every year because of this epidemic. These days it’t not even just about texting. With all of the new apps and internet features, drivers are even more distracted by their cell phones while driving.
We’ve mostly seen teens as the victim of texting and driving but some adults do too. Even in areas where texting and driving is prohibited, people are still crashing from it.
It is extremely heartbreaking to see these people lose their lives over a checking their Instagram or even texting. For one family in particular, texting and driving changed their lives forever. One simple text message “yeah” killed their daughter.
In the video below that AT&T sponsored you can see several families whose lives have changed forever just from one simple text message. The video goes through a couple of scenarios showing each of the drivers last text messages and even shares some personal information as well.
The first story was of a girl named Ashley who was texting her sister at the time of the crash. Her last text message “yeah” caused her to clip the median. Her truck flipped and she was ejected from the drivers side door. She landed in a ditch 300 ft from the vehicle.
Her death didn’t only leave her family heartbroken, but it caused her sister whom she was texting to feel responsible for the crash.
The next story is the story of a young man who was going to the movies with a friend and his friend was texting. The last message “Where R” caused him to be declared dead on the scene. Although, he lived he can no longer live on his own.
“People don’t realize it could just take three seconds. I was going to the movies and the car just went directly into the tree and it was a direct collision. I collided with the tree on my right temple and I was declared dead at the scene three times. I used to be able to drive. I used to be able to go for walks. I used to be able to run around town by myself. I used to have a job. I used to be normal. All this I cannot do anymore because they had to text.”
The last story was the story of a young girl named Mariah who was supposed to graduate the day after her death. The text message “Where U At” killed her. An officer who arrived at the scene even shared in the video saying it was so sad…
The officer even got choked up talking about it.
“When I got to the seen, her face was disfigured from sliding down the roadway…her cap and gown was still in her car…it was just a really horrific scene. All because of a senseless text message…it’s just sad…”
The video goes on to show Mariah’s mother and friends celebrating her 19th birthday. It is so heartbreaking.
