They Made Fun Of Her For Being Autistic, Now She’s Changing The World…

Many made of of this young girl for having autism, but it didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams. This is so inspiring.

Kaylee Rodgers is a 10-year-old from Northern Ireland who has been overcoming the struggles of Autism. If you don’t know what Autism is it is “a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts.”

Although many never thought that she would ever be able to sing, no one expected her to get up in front of an entire audience and perform. Just recently a video of the 10-year-old middle school student went viral. It wasn’t only because she has the voice of an angel, but she has had to push past the struggles of Autism to do it.

Her principle, Colin Millar, says that Rodgers not only struggles from Autism but she also has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Miller went on to say that singing has actually been the thing that has helped build up Rodger’s confidence.

Autism comes with many different obstacles, but singing has really helped Rodgers overcome.

“For a child who came in P4 (7 to 8 years old) and wouldn’t really talk, wouldn’t really read out in class, to stand and perform in front of an audience is amazing. It takes a lot of effort on Kaylee’s part,” Millar said.

As if her getting on stage in front of a crowd and sharing her incredible talent wasn’t enough, Kaylee sang one of the most inspiring songs that we have ever heard. She chose to sing Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujah” that has been covered all across the world because of its inspiring lyrics and melody.

Unfortunately, Cohen passed away in November – but his legacy is continuing to ring all across the world because of his music. Kaylee stepped up onto the stage with confidence and it has us all in tears.

“Well I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Baby I’ve been here before
I’ve seen this room and I’ve walked this floor (you know)
I used to live alone before I knew you
And I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah
