The team can’t even celebrate after a playoff blowout.
The Packers beat the New York Giants by 25 points in a wild card playoff game at Lambeau Field. Unfortunately, all the joy lasted until medical and injury reports started flowing in.
Green Bay wide receiver Jordy Nelson spent the night in the hospital with a rib injury suffered after he was hit near the sideline by Giants safety Leon Hall. Nelson went down hard almost immediately and it looks like he might be out for the count.
Concerns for Jordy Nelson are broken ribs, pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and splenic laceration with blow occurring on his left side.

“If he doesn’t practice Saturday, then he won’t play in the game,” head coach Mike McCarthy said of Sunday’s NFC divisional playoff game at the top-seeded Dallas Cowboys. If Nelson is out against the Cowboys, the team will have to rely more heavily on Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb to fill in. Nelson caught 97 passes for over 1,250 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, so he’s got some big cleats to fill. Cobb just came off the injured list and Allison has not been a key offensive player for most of the season.
Does Nelson’s injury spell doom for Green Bay, or do you think the Packers got used to playing without him in 2015?
