2016 was a rough year throughout the Carolina Panthers franchise.
After finished 15-1 last season and making it all the way to the Super Bowl, the team will finish below .500 and miss the playoffs entirely. Michael Oher is currently in the concussion protocol and has been for some time.
But, Oher made a major announcement and said he’s already preparing for the 2017 football season, a great announcement throughout the franchise. Oher has been on the protocol since September 30. He was recently cleared to play, and is now getting himself ready for next season.
No one with the Panthers had said much about Michael Oher in recent weeks. Until Thursday.https://t.co/Bikaxc470P

Oher signed a three year ,$21 million contract in June of 2016 and is signed through 2019. He’s only 30 years old and hasn’t even begun discussing retirement. If the team wants to get back to post season play next year, a healthy and effective Oher will be the key to that. Protecting Cam Newton, opening up holes for the running game and providing stability and leadership for the team are all necessities that were lacking after he went down. While leaders like Mike Remmers stepped up, veteran offensive tackles are hard to come by.
Are you excited to know Oher is returning, or are you still obsessed with this nightmare of a season?
