The fastest man in the NFL might be the fastest man on earth.
After the NFL draft hoopla calms down, teams look into undrafted free agents to find diamonds in the rough. Normally that means a player with some legal issues, too small or from a tiny school.
However, the Carolina Panthers think they’ve found one of the fastest men in the NFL in Marvin Bracy. Bracy ran the 100-meter dash in 9.98 seconds at the U.S. Olympic trials earning a spot on the national Sumer Olympic team last year.

“I feel I probably would be the fastest guy in the NFL … next to John Ross, that guy is pretty fast,” Bracy said. Bracy was on the Florida State Seminoles his freshman year, but left football to focus on track & field. “Anytime you run a sub-10-second 100, it’s pretty impressive,’’ head coach Ron Rivera said. The 9.98 wasn’t even a personal best for Bracy. He was clocked at 9.93 seconds in June 2015. Having already added several offensive weapons, the team jumped at a chance (or rather ran at it) to pick up someone who can burn defenders down the field.
Is this a big pickup, or were the Panthers just trying to make some headlines this week?
