Cowboys Expect Suspension Decision Today, Fear Bad News

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys expect to hear news on their star running back soon.

Update: The league has come down with the hammer on the Cowboys star running back.  According to Adam Schefter, Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended six games.  Elliott will appeal the suspension.

When it comes to the Ezekiel Elliott saga, the decision and wondering may be over as soon as today.  The looming suspension has been hanging over this team’s head, and hopefully that will come to an end soon.

The longer the decision takes to come out, the more likely it is that Elliott’s will be suspended!

According to Bleacher Report, Elliott is reportedly expected to be suspended.  That decision could come as soon as today, but should be by next week at the latest.  However, a suspension seems “definite.”  The league will find that Elliott has violated the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

Thursday, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florino, cited a source and reported the news.  However, no news of the length of the suspension has been known.

Adam Schefter reported earlier this off-season of the possible suspension.  He reported that he will likely be looking at a one or two game suspension.  This was due to the domestic violence allegation from last summer.

Cris Carter came out this week and said that he has heard of the suspension being nearly a lock to happen.  He also reported that the suspension could be closer to the four games that Tom Brady received last year.

“Because based on the information that’s going to come out, it’s going to be fairly easy to determine that something happened to this woman in her four days of being with Zeke,” Carter said, via Joe Giglio of “This is just pure assault or domestic violence.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has continued to stand behind his running back!

He has repeatedly said that Elliott wouldn’t be suspended.  He also stated that the investigation was due to more of his entire off-field body of work, rather than just the domestic violence allegation.

A suspension by the league could be delayed if Elliott chooses.  Elliott could challenge the ruling by the league.  He could play while the courts decide on his appeal.  This would allow the league’s rushing champ to play while the courts consider his challenge.

The Cowboys open the 2017 football season with a home matchup with the New York Giants!
