The Dallas Cowboys did their job on Thursday against the Washington Redskins.

The Cowboys didn’t play on Sunday, but they had plenty on the line while watching the rest of the league play.  Dallas needed a few teams to help them out, if they are to make this miracle run to the postseason come January.

So, you’re saying there’s a chance?

Two of the biggest things that had to happen was the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions to lose their games.  The Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens helped Dallas out by beating the Lions and Falcons.  Dallas also hoped to see the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks lose on Sunday, but both teams picked up important wins themselves.

As they sit right now, the Cowboys are in 10th place at 6-6!

Dallas is tied with Detroit and Green Bay, but both teams own the tiebreaker on the Cowboys right now.  Both teams will play each other down the road.  Therefore, Dallas will pass one of the two, if and only if, the Cowboys win these final four games.

Sitting in the wild card spots are Carolina and Seattle, both teams sitting two games up on the Cowboys with four games to go.  Carolina has three straight games at home against the Vikings, Packers, and Buccaneers.  They also will close out the season at Atlanta in week 17.

The Seahawks play two games at home, and two games on the road.  Week 16, they will travel to Dallas in what hopefully will be a game with plenty on the line.  Oh, and if I forgot to mention, this will be the first game back for Ezekiel Elliott from his six-game suspension.

What we do know is that the Cowboys will need to win the final four games to have a shot at the playoffs.  They will also need a little help from a few teams as well.  As we have seen this year, anything is possible in this league.

The final month of the season will be interesting, if nothing else, to close out the 2017 regular season!
