The rookie season is in the books for the Dallas Cowboys second-round selection.
Chidobe Awuzie is entering his first off-season of his NFL career.
It’s a career that has all the looks of being very successful, especially with his versatility to play multiple positions in the secondary.
During his first season in the league, Awuzie had many ups and downs, which is expected by players during their first year in the NFL. The downs for Awuzie didn’t come in his play. Those downs this season came from a hamstring injury he suffered early during his rookie year.
After injuring his hamstring during training camp, Awuzie would suffer a setback during the Cowboys week two at Denver against the Broncos. It was an injury that would force the former Colorado cornerback to miss time early this past season. He would return to finish the season strong as he heads into that first off-season as a NFL player.
One of the first things that Awuzie would buy was a gift to the person that gave him life. Awuzie would give his mom a Range Rover as a gift. He said it’s something she has wanted for a long time.
She always wanted one.. Happy Birthday Mommy 🙏🏾🎊 pic.twitter.com/R6hbQ1yyZt

This is what we can expect from Awuzie during his career. Maybe not handing out gifts left and right, but being a good person and someone that thinks about others, not just himself.
Getting back to football, Awuzie has a promising career that we saw glimpses of what he can do on the field. His versatility is something that is likely his biggest strength. During his time in college, Awuzie played all positions in the secondary. It’s that versatility that gives Dallas options in their young secondary.
Excellent job Chidobe for giving back to the one that helped you get to where you are!
