Dak Prescott And Ezekiel Elliott Just Made History

The Cowboys are America’s Team and this just proved it yet again.

The Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of a great season and looked primed and poised for a trip to Houston in February.  If that is to happen, the rookie duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott need to continue to play at the level they have been playing throughout their rookie season’s.

To show that these two rookies are not just rookies, but players that are ready to lead this team, the fans voted the rookie duo into the Pro Bowl by being the highest two voters by the fans.  Two weeks ago, the early voting was announced, Elliott and Prescott led not just rookies, but all NFL players in voting.  The rookie running back and quarterback are the first rookie teammates to do so since the merger in 1970.

The rosters of the Pro Bowl are determined by a combination of votes by the fans, players, and coaches.  The Pro Bowl is held in Orlando, Florida and held during the week before the Super Bowl.

Along with the rookies, offensive linemen Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Travis Frederick were put on the roster.  However, there is a major snub that did not make the original rosters, Sean Lee.  That is crazy and I would feel like this was a slap in the face.  Not only has he been the team’s MVP on defense, he has been a dominate force in the league with 140 tackles, second only to Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner with 145 tackles.  He will likely make it as an alternate in the coming weeks.

Lee’s teammate Andrew Gachkar took to twitter to say what he felt on the snub.

“Just saw these pro bowl rosters,” Gachkar tweeted, “lol absolutely the stupidest list I’ve ever seen if it doesn’t include Sean Lee.  Pointless.”

Of course, as a fan of the Cowboys, you hope that none of your Cowboys make the trip to Orlando. That means they are getting ready for Houston that week.  If you are in the Super Bowl, you are cannot play in the pro bowl.  That is what I am expecting in January and the thought of Dallas in the Super Bowl is getting more and more real.

Elliott and Prescott have done the heavy lifting in the regular season, but it might be Lee and this defense that get them to Houston.  The offense has put a lot of pressure on this defense in the last couple weeks and they have taken it and ran.  With the return of a group of players to the defense, it might be the defense that we say thank you to come February.

Congratulations goes out to Zeke and Dak, but the job is not finished!
