There will be no panic in this football team, especially with the leaders they have on both sides of the ball.

Jerry Jones has no worries about what his All-Pro running back, Ezekiel Elliott, will be doing during his six-game suspension (via ESPN).

“I think he’s got a good plan, and I know he’s going to be doing stuff,” Jones said after the Cowboys’ 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. “He’s going to get away, and he’s doing some things that will help his career and his life, and so, no, I’m not as concerned about that.”

Elliott is said to be heading out of the country to get his head cleared during his suspension.  We don’t know where he will be going, or what he will be doing during the suspension.  However, we do know that he will be back ready to go once he is eligible to return.

On December 1, Elliott will have his newest preliminary injunction hearing.

If he wins that, he would have lost four games on his suspension.  If he doesn’t win, Elliott would be returning following the Oakland Raiders game on December 18 for the final two games.

During his suspension, Zeke can have zero contact with the front office or his coaches.  However, he can have contact with the training staff and his teammates.

Dak Prescott said he exchanged texts with Elliott following the suspension.  It was about friends, not about teammates or employees during those exchanges.

“He’s doing well,” Prescott said. “We just shared text messages as friends — not as employees or teammates, not even talking about football for the most part.”

The biggest loss for this team on offense, may not be Zeke!

The Cowboys went 5-3 during the eight games that Elliott was able to play as he received multiple temporary stays of his suspension.  Last week was the first game the team played without their All-Pro running back in 2017.  However, it might have been the loss of Tyron Smith that proved to be bigger.

Yes, Elliott is a huge loss for this team, you can’t just replace what he does for this offense.  However, this team has a group of capable backups behind him to handle the workload in his absence.

It will be what happens this week at left tackle that is more concerning.  We saw what happened without Smith protecting Prescott’s blindside.  This is where all the attention will go this week, waiting to hear if he was able to practice and what his injury designation is on the team’s injury report.

Do you think Zeke is smart leaving the country during his suspension?
