With free agency just a week old, the Cowboys continue to stay on the top of the league, despite making very few moves and losing many of their own in free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys will be one of the better teams in the NFL this upcoming season and Vegas continues to show that in their future odds of Super Bowl 52.  Prior to the free agency period, the Cowboys were tied for second with the Green Bay Packers at 9/1 odds to win Super Bowl 52.  Both teams were just below defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, who were 5/1 to win the upcoming Super Bowl.

Following the first week of free agency, both the Cowboys and Packers dropped slightly, but now are tied with another team, Seattle Seahawks, at 10/1 to win Super Bowl 52.  All three trail New England, whose odds got better with the moves they have made, they are now have 4/1 odds to win the big game.

This proves that free agency does have a little impact in what teams will do during the upcoming eyes, at least in the eyes of the public and Vegas, but it isn’t the only thing.  With the Cowboys making very few moves and losing some key names to their team from the past year, including three quarters of their starting secondary, it truly only matters who the leaders are and if they are back.

As long as the Cowboys have Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Jason Witten, and this offensive line coming back for the 2017 season, they will be just fine.  They still have their defensive leader Sean Lee on the defensive side of the ball.  As well as looking forward to Jaylon Smith and Charles Tapper making their team debuts in the upcoming season.  Both players missed their rookie seasons with injuries, but both are expected to have an impact for this defense in 2017.

Do you agree with the Cowboys odds following the beginning of free agency?
