An injury during the first quarter of Sunday’s game could prove to be devastating.
Sean Lee was forced to leave the Dallas Cowboys game early on Sunday afternoon. He left the game against the Atlanta Falcons in the first quarter due to a hamstring injury.
Cowboys suffer a devastating loss in Atlanta!
This isn’t the first hamstring injury that Lee has suffered this year. He suffered one earlier this season, one that would force him out for two games. You instantly noticed his absence as the Cowboys gave up back to back games of 35 points, both losses.
It appears that this current injury is one that will keep him out for a substantial amount of time as well. Early reports were that he would miss a minimum of one game, possibly more (via Ian Rapoport).
“Bad timing for Cowboys LB Sean Lee: Source said he’s unlikely to play this week vs Eagles and then it’s the Thanksgiving Day game against the Chargers four days later. May miss several games.”
A later report had it that Lee will miss close to three weeks with his current injury (via Joe Trahan).
“Source confirms Dallas Cowboys prepping LB Sean Lee (hamstring) to miss next three games.”

No matter how you look at it, this is not good news for this Cowboys defense and football team. We know that Lee makes this defense go and his absence resulted in bad play already this season.
Already missing Ezekiel Elliott, serving his six-game suspension, the Cowboys may be down their best defensive player as well. Missing two All-Pro players, as well as possibly the best player on both sides of the ball isn’t going to be easy.
Which loss is bigger, Zeke or Lee?
