The Green Bay Packers started out slow in 2016, but behind their star quarterback, they got back in the hunt for the NFC playoffs.
If the Packers are to get back to the NFC Championship for another shot at the Super Bowl, the team will have to play much better overall to get over that hump. The Atlanta Falcons jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead and was able to put the second half on cruise control on their way to the 44-21 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Per profootballtalk.nbcsports.com, Rodgers said the way they played in 2016 was great, but in the end, it was the finish of the season that the team will look back to and remember.
“Going forward, we have to be better when our best is needed. All around — offense, defense, special teams,” Rodgers said, via ESPN.com. “There are plays in that Atlanta game that, if they go our way, it’s a different ballgame. We missed a kick, we fumbled, we go stagnant on offense and the next thing you know, it’s 31-0. You’re not going to win games like that against good teams. I think we’ve rebuilt a little bit, but we’ve got to see what we’ve got here.”
Tom Brady said he's amazed at how fast Aaron Rodgers transfers energy to his fingertips on release–fastest in the league…

According to @Cianaf's QB catelog, Aaron Rodgers lost an NFL-high 11 TD passes to failed receptions in 2016, yet still led the NFL in TDs.

Started the season 4-6, some put the Packers out of the playoffs, but with Rodgers under center, you always have a fighter’s chance. It proved to be too much in that championship game, whether it was running out steam or just simply playing the better team, the Packers ended a game short of their goal in 2016. That is something that Rodgers and this team hope to get over and back to the Super Bowl in 2017.
The Packers did what they could on the offensive side of the ball in 2016 and added to that in the off-season with the addition of Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks at tight end. However, it’s the defense that needed the help and hopefully with the picks they made and the moves they made (or will make) will get this defense to a level that they need to be at.
With a hot start in 2017, maybe the 2017 season will run thru Green Bay!
