With The First Pick In The Second Round, Green Bay Picks…

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have needs on the defensive side of the ball and at running back.

The Packers decided to trade out of the first round yesterday with the Cleveland Browns.  That decision was mainly due to the number of players still available for the Packers needs, along with the Packers wanting to gain more picks in this draft.  With this trade yesterday, they moved back a few spots, but gained another pick (fourth-round selection) from the Browns in doing so.

Even with rumors of trading this pick as well, the Packers decided to keep the pick.  That could be with no suitors available or maybe they thought the player(s) they wanted would be there.  With the 33rd overall pick the Packers went with Kevin King.  King a cornerback out of Washington.

This was an excellent pick as CB was a weak part of this football team and they got a player that can come in and contribute right away for a defense that needs the help.  King went over looked with the craziness of the first round yesterday.  The Packers not only got a play maker, but they got a first-round talent in the second-round.

Welcome to Green Bay!
