The Packers travel to Detroit in a huge division game on Sunday.
The Green Bay Packers have been playing playoff football for over a month now and have yet to lose in the last five weeks. Since the Packers were 4-6 through ten games, the outside world labeled this team dead and the chance that they make the playoffs was slim if any at all. That was five weeks ago, and this is now where the Packers have won five straight games since their starting quarterback told the world they would run the table to get in the playoffs.
This week the Packers take on the Detroit Lions in a game that will see the division winner win the game and the other team might be sitting out this postseason. There is a chance that both teams make the postseason, but the best way to make it is to bring home the victory.
On offense, the Packers have the biggest advantage as they take on a defense that has been destroyed by opposing quarterbacks all season long. It just so happens that the Packers have one of the game’s best in Aaron Rodgers and his all-star receiving group led by Jordy Nelson. This is a game that should see Rodgers throw three or four scores and a couple of them could got his favorite target Jordy Nelson. In the previous meeting between these two teams in week three, Rodgers threw for four touchdowns with two of them going to Nelson.
Last week the Lions were picked apart by the Dallas Cowboys and their rookie quarterback Dak Prescott. He finished the game with 200+ yards and three touchdowns, and that was in a game that the Cowboys had nothing to play for. What happens when the Lions play a team with everything to play for in the Packers? The Lions secondary has been lit up plenty of times this week and it doesn’t end this week.
As for the Packers defense, they have been playing much better, but the Lions should be able to get theirs in this game as well. It will be at quarterback that the Packers will win the game, they have the better quarterback that will make a couple extra plays to put his team in the right place to get the victory.
The Packers win the division on Sunday night and become a team that no one in the playoffs wants to play. They are one of the hottest teams in the league being led by possibly the best player. The Lions have had a nice year, but it will be the same ole’ Lions come Sunday night.
Prediction: Green Bay 31 over Detroit 23!
