REPORT: Packers Just Received DEVASTATING News On Jordy Nelson

Green Bay Packers

The Packers may have to head to Dallas to take on a very good football team without their star wide receiver on the football field.

The Green Bay Packers may have been able to get out of the wild card weekend, but they didn’t get out without some injuries.  Wide receiver Jordy Nelson was knocked out of the game in the first half after a hit by New York Giants cornerback Leon Hall.  The hit was perfectly placed and now we just sit back and wait to see what Nelson’s availability will be next weekend against the Dallas Cowboys.

The hit knocked him out of the game and he immediately looked like he was in major pain with his head in his hands as he was carted to the locker room.  Nelson has come back from his ACL injury last year to get back to his old form as the season went on.  If Nelson is unable to go, the Packers must look to the other weapons on this offense in a more expanded role.

Nelson caught just one ball for 13 yards before the injury.  His departure opened thing up for Randall Cobb more as he could have a big game after he could return for the first time in a few weeks to the Packers offense.

McCarthy said they obviously have a concern for Jordy, but don’t have an update yet.  An update will likely come early in the week, but we may not know his definite status against the Cowboys until closer to the ballgame.

Luckily, the Packers have plenty of weapons on offense starting with the second leading receiver in touchdowns, Davante Adams.  Adams was second in the league, behind Nelson, in receiving touchdowns.  Green Bay also has seen their tight end Jared Cook get more involved in the passing game over the last week, and welcomed Randall Cobb back from injury this week in the wild card game.

The loss of Nelson is huge, but if anyone can afford it, it’s Green Bay’s offense!
